Cleaning The Garage and Other Busy Work

The heater repair company has not yet contacted us so we are still without heat.  However the back up heater we are using is working more than sufficiently and thankfully it is not very cold here again.  Last night I actually turned the heater off because we were too warm and it was on low.  I am very thankful for mild weather right now again while the heater is broken and I am also thankful that we had a cold spell and discovered that it was broken before the real cold of winter sets in.

I have been really busy today.  I painted a project I will show you soon...  made quiche for dinner, and have been cleaning out the garage.  I decided to make dinner early because it can set, and if I got tired from cleaning out the garage dinner was done no matter what.  Before you think a garage shouldn't wear me out...
um, ya it's pretty bad!    We have tried to keep it organized but inevitably things get tossed in the garage and well it gets piled up pretty quickly.  I am slowly working on organizing tools today.  Remember I like a place for everything and things are not grouped together which makes finding tools to do things a pain.  It is frustrating to have things disorganized.  This is the last area that needs worked on in our house.  I'm taking it slow and steady.  My goal is to completely finish cleaning and paint the floor of the garage.  I think that a smooth painted surface will be much easier to sweep and keep clean.  Projects like this make me happy.  This is a very well used area for our house.  It is our only storage area aside from a small yard shed and very important to function well.  Wish me luck, this is a monster project to tackle by myself.  Usually DH and I work together on this but he is working and it needs done.  I can feel the cold of winter nipping on my heels as I work today! It's overcast and cool.  While I am working I have been smelling these delicious quiche's baking...
Oh I can't wait for dinner.  My DD2 has been asking for me to make quiche for a week.  She is going to be delighted :)

Rick had been working on our garage. He has everything organized into piles and got rid of anything broken or that is trash. We have the same issue with our garage-things don't get put back where they should and things wind up everywhere and we can't find what we need. It seems to be a never ending battle :) Good luck! Quiche looks quite delish!

Good Morning Prairieharmony, I do hope your heating engineer has arrived by the time you read this comment. I'm so pleased you have a back-up to keep you and your family warm and cosy. You have quite a task in front of you organising your garage. I would say attack it a "little at a time" otherwise by the end of the day you will be exhausted. We are having beautiful weather here in England. Like you, I have been busy. I've been getting my garden ready for the winter. Now it's time for tea. So I will say goodbye. Best Wishes Daphne

Donna; You have a very good start with Rick already sorting everything. That is great! I think after working on a project we are so happy to get supplies out of the main house area we take them to the garage intending to put them away the next day but find ourselves busy with life again. Before remodeling life started we were much more diligent about putting things back in the garage and I'm excited to be in that phase again :) Good luck with your garage clean out as well.

Daphne; The heating repair people have came thankfully! Your wise words of a little at a time I have taken to heart. It is working very well and I can see progress which is good! I need to prepare my garden area for spring very soon. This year we did not plant a garden and I am planning on planting one this spring again. :)
