This has been such a fun quilt to make! I am really enjoying the colors as I have been piecing the blocks together. I chose a nice bright white to show off the colors in this quilt and I love how they pop. Don't worry, the bottom right corner of the quilt is not as curvy as it looks in this picture. It was hanging inward slightly creating a nice wavy looking outside edge :)
I will use the same white as the sashing to create a border for this quilt as well. I think it will be a nice solid frame since there is so much going on in this quilt. I have not yet decided what I will bind this with. It will have to be a surprise for everyone. I do not have a design wall in this room so I improvised and pinned the corners to the back of two computer chairs to take a picture. Who says computer chairs are not versatile?!?! :)
And where you might ask is this quilt headed? Well DD2 had a change of heart and it will go for the school fundraiser after all :)

Oh that looks terrific! Really great job! Love the colour arrangement like that.
Someday I am going to learn how to quilt. Very pretty!!
Welcome Mandy I am so glad you are here! Thank you both so much. I am so excited to see who takes this quilt home with them after the school dinner this November. :) Donna I can envision you making beautiful quilts!
It looks amazing. The white really does provide a great contrast. I've just been thinking about starting a very simple first quilt. I think it is something I'd get great satisfaction from, but it can be a bit intimidating!
Love this! How big are your blocks?
Great job!!!
CRAZY gorgeous quilt! LOL
Thank you all so very much for your compliments. That is so nice. I am so excited to be able to send this fun quilt to school :)
Deb; The quilt block unfinished started as 8" blocks. The sashing is 1 3/4" and the outside borders are 1 5/8". I wanted the outside borders to be a little wider to accommodate me using a bit wider than a 1/4" to attach the binding to the front. Hope this help :)
