Bloggers Quilt Fall Festival 2012

Amy Friend at made During Quiet Time is having a fantastic Bloggers Quilt Fall Festival!!!
I am entering this Baby Crazy Quilt.

An excellent tutorial on how to make scrappy quilt blocks was featured on a blog I enjoy called The Girl Who Quilts,   I had always wanted to try a scrap block and was inspired.  I decided it was the perfect block to use in a quilt for our daughters' annual school benefit.  This quilt will go into a basket in the category of "baby".  The top was constructed using all scraps I had in my stash. I am new to scrap quilting and have really been focusing this year on using scraps in my quilt projects.  One main criteria I had for myself is that I wanted color options that would allow this quilt to grow with a child and not be packed away once the "baby" stage of life was over.  I thought primary colors would be a perfect choice allowing it to be used from infancy to a tv quilt for all ages.  I call it a grow with me quilt.
I quilted this quilt on my Pfaff creative 7560 at home.  This was the first time I used free motion quilting on a quilt and learned a lot from this experience.  I look forward to improving my technique and advancing my skills as I use this method on future quilts.

What a fabulous happy quilt. A wonderful way to use your scraps. I think primary colours are great for baby quilts.

What a great scrappy quilt. I've tried this before, I'll have to remember to block them by colors. Your free motion quilting looks great. I used to use my Pfaff for fmqing too, but I've got a Sweet 16 now.
