Scrappy Quilt Block Baby Quilt

Hello!  I have very busy this past twenty four hrs.  I feel like an elf getting ready for Christmas.  Except this project is for a fundraiser for our DD's school. Each classroom chooses a theme and makes up a gift basket and sells chances to that basket for several weeks until the main event which is a dinner.  At the dinner the basket items  are all on display and you can also purchase additional tickets at that time.  The winner is drawn that night.  One of the theme's this year for DD2's basket is baby.  Hmmm now what could I do for that?!?!? :)  What every good quilter would do make a quilt!

One of my blogs I enjoy reading called The Girl Who Quilts was featuring a tutorial on scrappy blocks.  I was so inspired I decided it was the perfect idea/ pattern to use for the  quilt I wanted to make.  I am not going to repeat the tutorial for this quilt.  I want to encourage you to visit The Girl Who Quilts for a wonderful detailed tutorial and enjoy looking around and reading while you are there.  It is a really nice blog!

Here are the block colors individually, they are pretty true to color.  I realize this doesn't look very "baby" but I decided to make this with primary colors so it would be a grow with me quilt.  As the little one grew it would make a great snuggle quilt, and eventually even as a great lap quilt for reading a book or watching tv.  I plan on putting white sashing in between the blocks and I haven't decided on a binding color yet.  I will figure that out later.

I will continue to work on the quilt until it is finished.  I want to get it finished up even early just in case.  You never know what could pop up and I certainly want this to be done.  Happy Quilting :)

Thank you, I am working on a very special scrappy quilt right now that got tucked away while doing some work on the house. When this one is finished up I will be working on the previous one I started. Of course like most quilters I have more than one project going :) I am just starting to make scrap quilts. I'm really enjoying them :)
