This year at Prairie Harmony the focus is on balance. There are many times in my life when a theme seems to emerge time and again and the past few months the theme of balance has emerged enough times that life is trying to tell me something. The importance of balance can be felt in all area's of life. If you do not have balance in spending and earning you will not have enough money to cover necessary expenses. If you spend too much on "stuff" it will result in too many material possessions, and possibly debt problems. If you do not have balance in your eating habits, you will lack nutrients and will eventually develop health problems. If you do not have balance between rest and exercise, you will find a sedentary lifestyle will result in a body which does not feel well and potentially develop weight issues. If you exercise too much you might experience strain and fatigue. There is also balance in learning what is a need in your life and what is a want. All of these are examples of the important of balance and harmony in our lives. Once balance is achieved, it is a matter of fine tuning and re-evaluating to keep ourselves in balance in all area's.
This year I will be focusing on balancing my body which includes food choices, nutritional needs and proper exercise. I have found as I seek balance in one area of my life, how interconnected all area's of my life are. When I seek and implement changes in my own life, I see how interconnected our family is. The changes I implement affect my family as well. As a wife and mother my food choices alone can have either a positive or negative affect on our family. Seeking balance and leading by example is the perfect solution.

Good luck Amy as you explore balance. I love the fresh start that a new year brings... my word for 2013 is Finish. All of the "someday" or "when I have the time" or "I'd love to do" ideas that jumble around in my brain and take up my energy need some thought, planning and action. Finish or let them go!
Finish is a great word for the year Deb!!! I have really enjoyed all the work you have gotten done this year and look forward to all the beautiful projects you will finish in this year too :)
A very worthwhile goal Amy and I look forward to exploring it with you.
Great post Amy!
I could certainly do with some balance in areas of my life too. I look forward to seeing how you achieve the balance :)
