Small House Inspiration

Last night was the coolest it has been so far yet.  A brrrr 54 degrees when I went to bed but I am not sure how much colder it got down to.  My oldest DD declared that it's going to be a cold winter.  I'm  not sure how I feel about that!  I don't particularly enjoy cold weather to be honest.  However it is a gentle reminder to myself to pleeeaase finish up these other projects so I can settle in and get my quilting ready.  I am very excited to finish the study and installation of the counter tops.

While I was thinking about what I would like to do in this space and fine tune what I would keep and donate and what I really needed in this room I decided to check the forum that I belong to at Down to Earth Forums
I found a post by one of the ladies on the forum that was absolutely inspirational for me especially right now as I am downsizing our belongings and striving for the "less is more" approach in our lives.

I don't know how many of you have heard of small houses.  By small I don't mean small as in my house for the "average" American at under 1500 sq. ft.  I mean anywhere from 300 to 400 sq. ft. overall!  They are amazing  in so many ways and I have always been fascinated by small spaces and the use of them.  People are so amazingly creative and I love looking at how people design and live in their homes.  Below is the link to a You Tube video she posted about small houses.  It's a documentary of sorts and I instantly loved it.  It is something I will be watching many times.  I am inspired and awe struck by the creativity and the ability to distance one's self from the clutter that here in America we seem to feel the need to have.

I hope you enjoy this video as much as I did or at least are inspired in some way by just one thing.

Very interesting video! Some folks think our house is real small (918 sq ft)but I think it's perfect for what we need. After watching this and seeing various blogs about tiny house living,I'd say we are living huge :)

I couldn't wait to leave this house for so many years, and struggled so badly with it for so many reasons. However I am at peace and especially after watching this video! I think the perfect fit is what works for our family's. It's so good that you are happy in your home, I think that is very important. When I do not enjoy my surroundings I do not feel my best. When I love my environment I am floating on clouds :)
